Ontario Pork

Canada is the world’s largest pork exporter -- and for good reason. Study after study confirms that Canada and particularly Ontario with its 3600 pork producers, has all the necessary ingredients for profitable pork production. Ontario boasts many new facilities and plenty of space, which certainly helps to minimize the spread of disease.

Pork production requires low cost and high quality feed. Ontario is a large grain exporter with a stable supply of affordably priced grain and soybeans.

For the consumer, the Canadian pork industry has worked hard to build a wholesome image in the mind of the consumer.

Currently in Ontario, opportunities exist to purchase existing farrow to finish operations or to participate in new and existing three-site production facilities in Ontario. Three-site production consists of sow, weaner and finishing farms working within loops in order to co-ordinate the entire production chain.
